The 6th ZJU Annual Ocean Law and Governance International Symposium
2017 International Symposium on “Historic Rights and the Law of the Sea”
The Center for Ocean Law and Governance and Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University will co-host the 6th ZJU Annual Ocean Law and Governance International Symposium on "Historic Rights and the Law of the Sea" Scheduled on 28-29 Oct 2017 in Hangzhou, China. The Symposium this year is a continuing effort of our Center and the Guanghua Law School.
It will bring together distinguished scholars worldwide to discuss the issues related to historic rights and seek feasible ways and means for further cooperation and communications among countries and regions in the field of the law of the sea. Scholars from both home and abroad who are interested in these topics are warmly welcomed to join us.
Six important topics have been identified for the Symposium and they include as followed:
1. Historic Rights in General International Law;
2. Historic Rights in the State Practice;
3. Historic Rights in the International Jurisprudence;
4. Historic Rights and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea;
5. Historic Rights and Maritime Law Enforcement;
6. Historic Rights in the South China Sea.
