On the morning of November 9, 2025, the delegation from the University of Ottawa visited Guanghua Law School, Zhejiang University a campus tour and cooperation meeting. The delegation included President Marie-Ève Sylvestre, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Marc Charron, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Melissa Forgie, Director of the International Office Connell Monette, and Professor Jiao Jie, Director for China of the Office of International Cooperation and Development.
Upon their arrival at the Law School, Secretary of International Affairs Shuyue Pan and volunteer Hu Peidong accompanied the delegation on a tour of the campus, introducing the history and development of the Zhijiang Campus as well as its representative buildings, such as Shensi Hall, the Tsang Hin-chi Building, and the Clock Tower. The delegation showed great interest in the architectural character and campus culture of the Law School, asking questions and sharing their impressions throughout the tour.

Later, Professor Shi Yubing, Vice Dean of the Law School, received the University of Ottawa delegation in Room 208 of the Severance Hall. Vice Dean Shi extended a warm welcome on behalf of the School and introduced Guanghua Law School’s progress in disciplinary development, international cooperation, and talent cultivation. He highlighted that the School has always placed great importance on partnerships with leading universities worldwide and hopes that mutual visits will further expand opportunities for faculty and student exchanges, research collaboration, and joint degree programs.
President Sylvestre expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and provided an overview of the University of Ottawa and its internationalization strategy. She noted that Zhejiang University and the University of Ottawa share a strong foundation for cooperation and expressed her hope to deepen collaboration across multiple fields—including law, medicine, and the humanities and social sciences—to foster an even closer partnership between the two institutions.
During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions on student and faculty exchange programs, the development of joint research platforms, and the possibility of short-term academic programs. Both expressed their commitment to advancing practical and mutually beneficial cooperation. The meeting concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
This visit further strengthened mutual understanding and trust between Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University and the University of Ottawa, laying a solid foundation for broader and deeper collaboration in the future.
