Academic Institution and Mechanism


The School has doctoral and post-doctoral research stations of first-level discipline of law, and one national key program (Constitutional and Administrative Law). The School also has master station of first-level discipline of law, covering 9 second-level disciplines including legal theory, constitutional and administrative law, economic law, civil and commercial law, international law, criminal law, procedure law, law of environment and natural resources and legal history. The School also grants degree of Juris Master ( JM ).

The School is committed to construct a number of domestically leading second-level and third-level disciplines, some of which achieve the international advanced level, encourage emerging interdisciplinary research, and focus on the construction of "3+X discipline"(the "3" refers to the civil and commercial law, legal theory, constitutional and administrative law;" X" refers to an open, dynamic group of disciplines). Several problem-oriented institutes are planned to be established, including centers for intellectual property, climate law and maritime law.

Positive efforts have been made by the School to promote the transformation of research direction into problem-oriented, construct an open research platform step-by-step to attract outstanding academics and conduct interdisciplinary research. Up to now, the School has made significant achievements and important contributions to the society. For instance, Professor Hu Jianmiao was invited to deliver lectures to the Central Political Bureau of the CPC in its collective learning activities; Professor Zhu Xinli was invited to deliver lectures to the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial Government; and Professor Zhang Jiansheng participated in the formulation of judicial interpretation issued by the Supreme People's Court.
