In the new academic year of 2019/2020, some leading law professors from overseas were invited to Guanghua Law School to give lectures to our new LLM& SJD in Chinese Law students.

During the Autumn semester, Professor Shen Yuanyuan from Harvard gave a course on The Economic Reform and Legal Development in China. In this course, professor Shen provided an overview of the role of law in the reform of China’s economic system and used the Chinese experience to examine more generally the relationship between legal and economic development.  

In the Winter Semester, Professor Bjorn AHL from Germany taught at the course of China & International Law. Professor Ahl is currently working as Chair Professor of Chinese Legal Culture and also Director of East Asian Studies at Cologne University. He is one of the leading scholars in the field of Chinese practice on International Law. In his classes, Professor AHL discussed a broad range of topics including the South China Sea Arbitration, Law of Treaties, Global Governance, and so on.   

Also in the winter Semester, Professor LEE Eric Yong Joong from Korea visited Guanghua Law School and led a course on Academic Research & Writing for the LLM & SJD students. Professor Lee is professor of International law at Dongguk University and also editor-in-chief of Journal of East Asia & International Law. He shared his rich experience on legal research and publishing with our students.
