In November 2019, Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School officially joined the Asian Law Institute (ASLI) and became one of its members. Guanghua Law School will take this opportunity to actively promote academic exchanges and cooperation with international universities and jointly commit to work on the development of the legal education in Asia.

The Asian Law Institute (ASLI) was established in 2003 through the efforts of several leading Asian law schools to foster Asian legal scholarship and to facilitate greater interaction amongst legal scholars in Asia as well as legal scholars outside Asia working on Asian law. It prides itself as an indigenous Institute of Asian law, created in Asia by Asian law schools and open to the world. Further the ASLI has sixteen founding member schools that are among the very top law schools in Asia.

So far, more than 90 famous law schools have joined ASLI such as Beijing University, China University of Political Science and Law, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and other well-known law schools in China. ASLI also includes some prestigious law schools outside Asia such as the international law school association in the United States, Sydney University in Australia and Coventry University in the UK.
