On September 5, 2025, a delegation from the University of Verona visited Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School to discuss prospects for academic collaboration. The delegation was led by Professor Sebastiano Maurizia Messina of the School of Law and Professor Roberta Facchinetti of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, accompanied by two colleagues.
Associate Deans Yubing Shi and Qing Lu, together with International Affairs Secretary Shuyue Pan, attended the meeting. Associate Dean Shi extended a warm welcome to the visitors and introduced the school’s programs and development strategy. Associate Dean Lu, drawing on his study experience in Italy, offered specific suggestions for potential cooperation.
In the discussions, Professor Messina highlighted that law is a discipline combining both theory and practice. He noted that, in the event of future cooperation, the University of Verona could offer Chinese students a rich selection of theoretical courses, while also arranging visits to law firms and enterprises to help them gain deeper insights into different legal systems and their modes of operation. Professor Facchinetti welcomed Zhejiang University students to participate in summer schools, exchange programs, as well as undergraduate and graduate courses at Verona, encouraging them to experience Italian culture and society firsthand. She also expressed her hope that cooperation between the two institutions could extend beyond law to encompass broader interdisciplinary fields.
Both sides engaged in constructive discussions on a range of possible initiatives, laying a solid foundation for future partnership between the two universities.
